The Kentucky Derby was a rather special event this year. And as special events typically go, many celebrities, including NFL players, attended the Derby. The Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen was one of those celebrities but he didn’t get much fanfare like someone like Aaron Rodgers did. Allen recalled his Derby experience with the new Jets QB but he has a concern regarding his counterpart at the MetLife Stadium.

Rodgers changed bases this offseason after spending all of his 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers. He will now lead a Jets team charged up to showcase their prowess to the world. Allen’s Bills share the AFC East division with Rodgers’ franchise. But he had only good things to say about his divisional opponent, along with a friendly concern.

Josh Allen is an Aaron Rodgers fan

Josh Allen recalled his experience with Aaron Rodgers at the recent Kentucky Derby. The Bills quarterback got a chance to have a little chat with his divisional opponent, whom he tries to emulate. Allen had only words of praise for Rodgers throughout the conversation.

“I’ll say this: I love Aaron, I saw him at the Derby, got to talk with him for a little bit. He’s one of my favorite quarterbacks of all time. I think he’s the most gifted thrower of all time. His body mechanics, like I try to emulate what he does. And I’ve been such a big fan of him for a long time and to have the relationship that we have, it’s surreal to me,” Allen said on ‘Kyle Brandt’s Basement’.

The Bills QB has just one concern for Rodgers though. And that is his new number 8. Maybe he’ll need time to adjust to the new number. Is that what he had a chat about with Rodgers when they met up in Louisville? Whatever might be the case, both of them had a totally different experience in Kentucky.

Same Derby, different experiences

Ever since Aaron Rodgers moved eastward from Wisconsin, he is getting swarmed by fans everywhere he goes. The 149th Kentucky Derby was no different. Well, the future Hall of Famer has earned it with the kind of career he has had. And his arrival on the East Coast has rejuvenated the NFL fan base of the Jets and beyond.

QB Josh Allen’s Ex-Girlfriend’s “Typical Behavior After A Breakup” On Kentucky Derby Day Makes Fans Go Wild

Josh Allen has done well with the Bills but hasn’t quite reached the Rodgers level. Maybe that is why his Derby appearance went a little bit under the radar. He did not get the kind of fanfare Rodgers got at the event.

Both the QBs will clash twice with each other next season at least. Maybe that would be the time when Allen can stamp his authority on the new-found rivalry early. After all, beating the one you look up to is a different feeling altogether.
